From the Coaches Desk: I just wanted to thank all the persons involved in making Math Night a success. It could not have happened without your help. This last week I was gone for G.L.A.D. training. I received a lot of good information. My biggest take back was the use of visualizations. I feel that G.L.A.D. tries to make concrete connections to words through pictures, diagrams, and actions. Finally, benchmark #2 begins February 23rd.
And that's my angle,

Revisiting the book, Mindset, I thought this powerful passage could help keep things in perspective heading into Week 25: "But when students understand that school is for them -- a way for them to grow their minds--they do not insist of sabotaging themselves. In my work, I have seen tough guys shed tears when they realize they can become smarter. It's common for students to turn off to school and adopt an air of indifference, but we make a mistake if we think any student stops caring." (pg. 201)
