Coaches Corner for Week 23

Salutations, only weeks away from benchmark 2. Wow, it's already time?
This year is flying by. Some great ideas came out of our Grade Level
Meetings this past week (Look for them in an upcoming email.) The overall
theme though was,
"We would like time to meet." Therefore, I will presenting this idea at
the next coaches meeting for future PD days. Looking ahead, our next round
of Curriculum Guide Revisions will be the second week of March. So don't
forget to gather your revisions. Thank you for your ideas, effort, and
commitment.

Today we met with another round of GLAD strategies.  We talked about Chants (taking key concepts from our learning and using them in a chant, poem, or song), Observation Chart (introducing a new concept by presenting 5-6 pictures for the students to “observe” then writing an observation, question, or prediction); and Team Tasks/Team Points Chart (teaching students the concept of team work and how to connect “points” to this task).  If you would like to have me come into your room and model one of these strategies, I would LOVE to.  Please let me know!
