Greetings
Everyone,
Welcome
Back to the 2012-2013 school year! Our theme this year is “Linking
for Success”. I hope that you all had a restful and enjoyable
summer and are ready for our work together!
We
will have some new faces on our staff this year both certificated and
classified. Brandon Pontius will be joining us as our new assistant
principal. Liza Borrego is our new secretary. She will spend mornings
with us, and afternoons with Sun Valley Elementary. Christy Twigg
will also be new on campus as our building nurse. Celina Lancaster
and Terra Buechler will both be teaching fifth grade and Yesenia
Campuzano will join us as the new ELL specialist. In addition,
Michelle Taylor (4th
grade) and Heather Kelly (5th
grade) will be here to start the year for Danielle Taylor and Sara
Scheidegger. Sarah Van de Graaf will be starting the new school year
with us and then Tammy Razey will come on board. Rosa Magana, Jessica
Chester and Casey Van de Graaf will also be joining us at Outlook
this fall. Cynthia Cervantes will be providing support to both CK
(am) and Outlook (pm). Please extend a warm Outlook welcome to all of
our new staff members.
Our
secretaries have returned to work and can provide teachers with
log-in information to Office Depot and/or KCDA for materials and
supplies orders. Please see Sally for allowable amounts.
Professional
development for all certificated staff is scheduled at Outlook August
27-August 30. Our hours on those days will be as follows: Monday,
Tuesday and Thursday: 8:00-3:30; Wednesday: 11:30-7:00pm (Meet the
Teacher is scheduled 5:30-7:00pm). On Friday, August 31 certificated
staff will meet at the auditorium at Sunnyside High School at 8:00 am
for professional development. After lunch on August 31, all K-5
certificated staff will meet at Harrison Middle School for the
roll-out of our new Social Studies curriculum guides and the revised
Science curriculum guides. We will finish the day at Outlook.
Classified
staff will only work on Wednesday, August 29. All classified staff is
invited to join us at 11:30 on Wednesday for a staff Welcome Back
Meeting/ luncheon. Required time of attendance on Wednesday, August
29th
for classified is as follows: 7 hr. 11:30-7:00pm, 6.5 hr.
12:00-7:00pm, 6 hr. 12:30-7:00 pm, 3.25 hr. (Alexis and Cynthia)
3:45-7:00pm.
Classes
begin September 4, 2012. School hours this year will be 9:10
a.m.-3:40 p.m. (We will decide on certificated staff start and end
times during our time together on Monday, August 27.)

all again- very soon.
