Happy 2011! I hope that your Christmas Break was filled with relaxation, good food, and great friends!! January means DIBELS! We will start testing towards the middle of the month. A definite schedule will be sent out soon. Please have students be cognizant of what they are reading. It is truly pointless for students to read 165 words in a minute and retell 28! Being aware of what they are reading (slowing down if necessary) is more important than a “high” number on ORF.
At our PDD on Friday, we will be spending time working on the power standards and the HYS—Reinforcing Effort and Providing Recognition. We will also be looking at the common unit assessments that were created based on the power standards for the following unit.
Math Corner:
Well everyone we are off to a new year. Have you ever turned on a
treadmill as fast as it can go and then jumped on trying to run. Yeah, I
know not the brightest idea. Anyway, don't do it. That is what this week
has been.
We have Benchmark Data analysis on Friday. I believe it will be very good
info. If you have not accessed your Benchmark Data from Data Director,
please try it. There is a lot of great information. Have a great week.
That's my angle!
