Heroes in Education

For our staff meetings, which we have twice a month, we take a few minutes to talk about heroes in education from both the past and present. In researching and reading about people that have made huge differences in education, I am fascinated with their tenacity, dedication, and overall commitment to a mission/project that transcends themselves and those around them. For most, their work went largely unnoticed in their lifetimes. Many of them were not paid well and in some cases, paid at all, yet their contributions made lasting impressions.

This week's hero...Anne Sullivan. Now of course many people know of Anne because of her work during her life, but talk about a commitment to education!
