Our student council (applaud squad) elections were yesterday and I was so impressed by how well the students did. It was really the first time Outlook has done this in a long time and I was encouraged by the students and what they did. I am looking forward to working with a quality group of kids next year.
Today, the art commission met with our artist, Mary, and we went over what will eventually become our mural in the commons area. I was so impressed by it and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished work. As we talked, we discussed about this year and how through all the fire and everything else that's happened, we are emerging out of the ashes, like that of a phoenix, the mythical bird that periodically dies, only to be resurrected anew...a different creature. Outlook is emerging as a different entity and I believe that was will emerge in the coming years is something wonderful.
