Community

It's a buzz word in education. Community. It can mean anything from the school itself, to grade level teams, to the surrounding community. I felt the latter tonight as we played a basketball game with our staff versus the fire department staff in an event to support Relay for Life.

I couldn't help but think how important it is to have community events like this that support all we do for kids and the surrounding families.

Bravo to staff who organized this! You know who you are! Bravo!

A Book

Well, here it is May. Things get busy as we push through the remainder of this year with activities and such and plan for next year. At principal's meetings, I often say, as we describe certain student situations, that we ought to write a book about responses that students give us, often times when they're in trouble.

As I reflect back on a year-and-a-half about all the things I've learned, mistakes made, etc., it's a hard job. And you can never really fully appreciate it with all the intricacies of the position until you sit in the chair for real and go through what you have to go through.

As we set positive vision for next year, I'm excited for the opportunity to work with a caring and devoted team and staff as we do some of the most noble work there is to do.

Regards,
Mr. Bowman
